Jardin Botanico de Barcelona feat. Elle Peril

Grow into gardens, the caverns you found in me

After a long climb up into the hilly back streets of Barcelona, we eventually made our way up to the Botanic Gardens. The gardens are set out into different sections named after places around the world that share the same climate as Barcelona, with flowers and plants native to those places. We walked through 'California', giving Elle a very homely feeling, then on to the Mediterranean and many others, surrounded by palm trees, cacti and plants I've never seen before. Right at the top there's a Bonsai Tree area which felt like a perfect little village for fairies and pixies. The views were incredible, overlooking the city with the mountains in the far distance.

Evergreen

"Lay by me, evergreen
Catching stars to keep"

A little trip to Potsdam a few months ago whilst child minding. Don't underestimate a 10 minute break with a camera! I'm obsessed with little intricate details.

Begin Again

You be the moon, I'll be the Earth
And when we burst, start over
Oh darling, begin again

Elle Peril

I can’t believe I’m over half way through my 6 month stay in Germany. I don’t want to leave Berlin! I feel like I need more than just 3 more months to get to know the city and the people and get involved with more arty projects. But I have an exhibition at the end of the month at LemoArt Gallery, and getting published online for a Berlin based magazine in a couple of weeks :) I definitely feel like I’m “finding myself” here, and my creativity, productivity and motivation is blooming. It just shows that surrounding yourself with new, fresh, positive, creative people and surroundings can work wonders for your mind.

Kanin Woods

When plans for shoots with models at the weekend get cancelled - go out and take photos anyway. Currently feeling so grateful for where I'm living, I am surrounded by nature. Just a few short minutes walk past some village houses of Kanin, sheep and pigs in the surrounding fields, the entrance to the forest begins. I started the day late, but it meant I got to walk through the trees in the late afternoon sun, discovering the perfect light spots. Starting my journey listening to music as I walked through the woods, I snapped some shots with my disposable camera, but hearing the birds beyond my headphones and the crunch of leaves and broken branches beneath my feet, I realised the sound of nature is far more comforting. I become such a forager in the outdoors - searching for unusual ways the light falls, looking for pretty foliage, scavenging for skulls (without success) and other signs of the natural world. I am obsessed with intricacy and delicacy.

Coming back home and editing the images, I am finding that productivity is so mentally satisfying. My day consisted of going on this walk, taking these photos that I am proud of, writing this blog post, working on multiple drawings, writing lyrics.. It's all so inspiration stimulating for every craft. Although all my plans for the past few days got cancelled, I feel so accomplished. I am keeping myself motivated and enjoying my own company and it is so refreshing and fulfilling. My aim now is just to keep going, to keep creating every day, to keep feeling content at the end of each evening.
